Chase Moore was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1985, and was immersed in music from birth. His mother is one of the world’s leading Kindermusik educators, and his father is the founder of Simply Music, the world’s largest playing-based music education institution. Chase and his family moved to Sacramento, CA in 1994. He has been a hip-hop fan since childhood, and after being exposed to the quantity and diversity of American music, hip-hop became an integral part of his life. He began writing rhymes and making beats at the age of 12. As a freshman in high school, his band, Capitol Conspiracy, was nominated for a SAMMIE Award in the category of best Hip-Hop group. Throughout his teens, Chase gained recognition and credibility by competing in organized rap battles. He has won numerous competitions including The Source Magazine’s Unsigned Hype battle (2004).
In 2005, Chase joined Omina Labs as an audio engineer and producer, and worked with artists such as Slug from Atmosphere, Raekwon from Wu-Tang Clan, Onyx, Glasses Malone, Papoose, Uncle Murda, Ras Kass, Freeway, Brotha Lynch, Keak Da Sneak, Mistah FAB, Living Legends, Planet Asia, B-Legit, Illmaculate, Copywrite, Mickey Dolenz (The Monkees) and others. Alongside of audio production, Chase has continued his career as a performing artist by opening for acts such as Method Man, Nas, Mos Def, Murs, KRS One, Dead Prez, Zion I, MIMS, Planet Asia, GZA, E-40, The Grouch, Middle Class Rut and others. In 2009, Chase began competing in the internet sensation battle league, Grind Time and has gained over 150,000 YouTube views.
Chase continues to work as an artist, as well as a producer and audio engineer at Omina Labs, The Track Shack and Sound Cap Audio. In addition, he is currently working with the multi-national, music-education institution, Simply Music, developing audio-production programs that will be offered to their international student body.
